Shaw Corporation achieved detailed planning consent for a major mixed use regeneration project in the heart of Dalston, London E8 for David Pearl's Structadene and freehold property owners Rothas Limited with development being undertaken by Taylor Wimpey Central London
This landmark scheme comprises 98 new 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and duplexes including onsite shared ownership affordable housing and 11,500 sq ft (1,068.4 sqm) of new build retail space.
Located immediately adjacent to Dalston Kingsland Overground Station, the development both future proofs and safeguards the potential for the station development and contributes to the cost of the current station upgrade to create a new ticket office and increased gate lines for the station.
Working closely with the London Borough of Hackney, the GLA and other key stakeholders, Shaw Corporation helped achieve the following:
- Conceptual scheme design and working with award winning architects Jestico+Whiles the final application scheme to create a landmark development for this key London location
- Strategic planning advice to the freehold owner and working with planning consultants DP9 a settled planning outcome and detailed consent
- Negotiation of the viability appraisal and affordable housing content
- Negotiating the terms with the delivery partner for the project, Taylor Wimpey Central London
Planning consent was achieved in June 2014.
Development has now commenced for the scheme to be entitled "FiftySevenEast" which will be completed in late 2017/early 2018. 50% of the residential units are already sold.
