Oakmayne has secured three separate detailed planning consents for a mixed use development at the heart of the Elephant & Castle Regeneration Area.

Architecturally designed as two residential towers and a student housing tower, Oakmayne Plaza will rise independently above an elevated park and commercial podium and will form the focus of a new public square and kick start this phase of the Elephant & Castle Regeneration Area.
The mixed use development will comprise:
24,585 sq ft (2,284 sq m) Residential accommodation (373 units as a mix of Studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments for sale)
77,145 sq ft (7,167 sq m) Student accommodation
26,748 sq ft (2,485 sq m) Multiplex cinema
42,948 sq ft (3,990 sq m) Retail food store and retail shops
14,058 sq ft (1,306 sq m) Restaurants, bars and cafe
14,897 sq ft (1,384 sq m) Fitness suite or crèche
73,948 sq ft (6,870 sq m) Market Square
The development also delivers affordable business units and restaurant on initially reduced rents for local traders relocating from the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre.
The site has been cleared in anticipation of development commencing in 2010. The development will take four years to complete.
Shaw Corporation has assisted the freehold owners, Eadon Limited, in the site acquisition and in the three separate planning applications with planning strategy, Section 106 negotiations, affordable housing, Toolkit assessments and GLA Part I and II approvals.
Shaw Corporation has also negotiated the terms of the several complex agreements for the Title and tenure transfers between the developers and the Council, including easements, rights of access and contractors compound licences, as well as the lease of the Market Square resultant from the development.
Shaw Corporation is retained in the letting of the commercial parts of the development.
